BAMAKO, Mali (AP) — Authorities in Mali say they have arrested two men in connection with an attack by Islamic extremists in Ivory Coast that left at least 19 people dead this month.
Commandant Modibo Naman Traore, a spokesman for Malian intelligence services, said Sunday that the two had been arrested in Goundam in northern Mali.
One of the suspects was identified as the driver who brought the men to Ivory Coast. Authorities identified the second man as his accomplice.
Already three men from Mali have been detained in Ivory Coast.
